PROGRAM OVERVIEW

On this Challenge you will spend two weeks working on a range of conservation and community projects in Panama. You will contribute to conservation efforts on Isla Canas for one week, helping to restore and conserve the Turtle's natural habitat. You'll then use your knowledge, skills and passion to help raise environmental awareness and deliver general workshops with the local community in the Anton Valley for the other week of your Challenge. You'll have the opportunity to take conservation and community impact on a global scale, while immersing yourself in Panama's vibrant local culture.

(Please note, this Challenge needs a minimum of 6 participants to go ahead, and has a maximum capacity of 15 participants)

who can join the team?

If you want to learn more about grass-roots community development, global conservation efforts, or you're someone who wants to use your skills to make a difference, our Panama Sustainability Challenge is perfect for you!

what will you be doing?

You will be fully immersed in the local culture in and around El Valle de Anton, helping to raise environmental awareness at one of our partner schools. Supported by our team on the ground, you'll design and deliver education workshops, covering sustainability topics. We encourage you to be creative and facilitate fun workshops that will engage the children and inspire them in their education.

You will also spend time on the Azuero Peninsula, contributing to reforestation projects. These projects are aimed at restoring the spider monkey's natural habitat and will give you insight into global conservation efforts.

What is your weekly structure?

Your arrival weekend will be an opportunity settle in, accustom yourself to the local area and have a full program induction and orientation. Following this, Monday-Friday will be your project days, with evenings and weekends free to explore. We recommend heading to the coast for some relaxation on the pristine, white beaches!
