“It’s my belief that each one of us needs to play our role to tackle the challenges we face around the world. Whether it be the challenges of climate change, access to quality education or economic inequality we can all make a difference. Through small changes comes big impact. At Challenges Abroad Australia we are committed to developing global citizens who are able to define their purpose, share their passion and put their mission into practice as leaders of the future. We would like to invite you on our journey together, to create a better world and become part of a community of people who care.”

“My volunteering experiences in the Philippines and Cambodia have made me very passionate about ethical travel and sustainable community development. My dream is to see every young Australian be able to get out of their comfort zone and travel to another country to see the challenges they face. I think the global impact we would see from an increasing number of young individuals feeling equipped to tackle global and local challenges, would be immense.”

“My whole life I have felt like I was meant to do something big on this Earth. I think back to my 9th birthday, when all I wanted was to make enough money to buy a goat through World Vision for a community in need overseas. This was my first action taken as a Global Citizen, a community I am so proud to be a part of. Volunteering overseas changed my life and helped create a pathway for me and my purpose. It brought me to Challenges Abroad where I get to promote sustainable actions and encourage people to change their life like I did, while being able to make a difference in the world. Not only do I want to change the world, I want to change the lives of the people within my community to step out of their comfort zone and embark on a life changing journey. I hope I can encourage you to make the small changes to see the big ones.”

“I’ve been supporting Challenges Abroad Australia volunteers since 2014, and the most rewarding part of my role is seeing the joy and excitement that our volunteers bring to the rural communities we work with around the world. When I spent time in Cambodia last year coordinating our program I had the pleasure of seeing first-hand the difference that our volunteers make! This experience really opened my eyes to what it means to be a Global Citizen.”
